Personal:

I'm married with four children.  I run with a group called the Bingham Butt-Kickers, a really fun group of people that gets me out running early on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and sometimes Saturdays.   I recently found out that I've been running with poor form for many years, which has probably contributed to some nagging aches and pains I've had for years.  One of my big goals now is to be able to run with better form and to have running feel more effortless.  I hope this won't take too many years to achieve!

Another day with everyone home, so I didn't feel I could spend a lot of time on the running thing, so I got in 5 miles on the treadmill, 2 easy, 3 fairly intense.  Not that I get in much more than that when everyone's gone, I just felt like I couldn't do my usual long warm-up and cool down.   Holidays, they're fun in some ways, but in some ways they mess up the routine, and with everyone home, the house seems to get messier.

The group met up at Glenmoor today.  When my alarm went off, I noticed that my stomach was hurting and I thought I might not make it to group.  I laid in bed for about 20 minutes and gradually felt better, so I decided to go, knowing I probably wouldn't get in much of a run today if I didn't go.  When I got to the meeting place, the group was just leaving, so I ran after them to catch up.  Walter came a little after me, but of course, he caught up easily.  I did not catch up, but was there in time for the first repeat.  We ran approximately one/half mile repeats around the park up there.   These are the stats:

1.  3:42; avg. pace 7:41; best 6:38; distance .48

2.  3:49; 7:44; 6:42; .49

3.  3:34; 7:23; 6:31; .48

4.  3:37; 7:21; 6:16; .49

5.  3:27; 6:56; 5:47; .50

6.  3:28; 6:58; 6:03; .50

Then we ran a 2.61 mile run, that took 21:14, pace 8:09 and best was 6:15

A very nice morning to run and a good workout.  Glad I made it.

Hill day at Parkway Palisades.  We first ran our tried and true mile; it took me 8:46.  Once again, I'm wondering if I'll ever be under 8 minutes again.   Hard to believe just a few years ago I ran that hill in about 7:20, and I was able to run it regularly under 8 minutes.  Will I get to that level again?  Who knows?  Who cares?  Then we did 3 miles.  My time on that was 24:55.  Hard for me to maintain feeling strong on the longer runs.  Wonder if it's lack of leg power or lung power?  Maybe both?  Then we did 2 miles, it took me 16:08.  The only good thing is the last time we did it in early April, it took 16:38, so at least I was better on that one.  I fell off running pretty dramatically in just one year it seems, and the big question is (lots of questions in this entry) whether I'll return to that level ever again.  Will I? Only time will tell, right?

Today was a great day.  First, started out with a 10 mile run with the fun people in my group.  Cheris had planned a run with lots of hills, and I do have to say, I like hills.  And I like the people in my group, so it was a perfect run, except for missing the people in my group who weren't there.  Then hubby and I went to the temple.  I have this goal of once a month, and today was it for May, so we went and enjoyed it.   Then home to do a few household chores (not so fun, but somebody has to do them).  Then a 10 mile bike ride with hubby that included going up Butterfield Canyon  (giving myself 3 miles for that).  It was hard but enjoyable at the same time.  Then home to a wedding shower for a neighbor.  Then to dinner with the future in-laws to plan last minute wedding things.  Then home to fall in bed exhausted.  But it was a great day.
