Personal:

I'm married with four children.  I run with a group called the Bingham Butt-Kickers, a really fun group of people that gets me out running early on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and sometimes Saturdays.   I recently found out that I've been running with poor form for many years, which has probably contributed to some nagging aches and pains I've had for years.  One of my big goals now is to be able to run with better form and to have running feel more effortless.  I hope this won't take too many years to achieve!

We met at Bingham to do the last best pre-marathon workout, which consisted of three 1-mile repeats and then two 400s.  The first mile was up and down Rustic Roads.  That took 8:06.  The next mile was from Rustic Roads to Canterwood, up to 2700 W. and ending at North Forty Way.  That took 7:53.  Then it was down Rustic Rds. to Merides and then Culmination.  That took 6:51.  The 400s I did in 1:39 and then 1:29.  Obviously, I ran the second two miles a little faster than marathon pace.  All the years I've run St. George, I've never had a sub-7 minute mile.  I'm hoping this year to keep all miles (except maybe for Veyo Hill) below 8:30.  We'll see how it goes.

Nice third mile, holy crud Cheryl!!! You are she woman right now and are going to have one heck of a marathon. I am so excited for you. I can still remember seeing you last year and your disappointment---that will not be happening this year. You are READY!

Cheryl, old school workout before the marathon, staying sharp, like it. Good luck, you have done the work, enjoy the marathon.

Kelli--thanks for the vote of confidence. I should do better than last year, I'd better do better than last year, but with a marathon you never know what might happen during those 26.2 miles. I think all BBKs will do really well.

Brent--thanks, I'm really looking forward to the big day. See you at the dinner!

I know that, from the good side and the bad. I have had both happen. So going into a marathon with absolutely no expectations or clue what will happen is going to be very interesting. Honestly, if i was not so excited to see how everyone else was going to do, I would have called it quits and stayed home in bed. But YOUR BBK group has done amazing things this year and I can not believe the improvement in every single on of you guys, it is going to be so fun at the end to hear how everyone did.
