Personal:

I'm married with four children.  I run with a group called the Bingham Butt-Kickers, a really fun group of people that gets me out running early on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and sometimes Saturdays.   I recently found out that I've been running with poor form for many years, which has probably contributed to some nagging aches and pains I've had for years.  One of my big goals now is to be able to run with better form and to have running feel more effortless.  I hope this won't take too many years to achieve!

First thing this morning, I spent 30 minutes doing core exercises.  Then later I got on the treadmill and ran an easy 30 minutes at a 3% incline, then ran some sprints, then ran 1 mile at 8.5 and no incline, then finished with an easy about 10 minutes.

Last night I played basketball with other women from my stake.  There were some younger women there who had played high school basketball, and playing against them, I felt every one of my many years.  I wasn't able to run the court real well because of hamstring pain and other leg pain.  So that's why today I practiced sprinting, just so I can get faster on the basketball court.  And somehow I have to get rid of the hamstring issues, that's why I'll be focusing more on strengthening the core.

Cheryl,

You are simply incredible. I don't know anyone as fearless as you. Basketball, cycling, running, yoga, what don't you do?

Eric--Thank you for that. There are many things I don't do.

Britta--thanks. These hamstrings have been bugging me for a few years now. I wish I knew the answer to getting over them.

Really, if you cook and clean, than you are PERFECT!! I tried to play basketball (and volleyball) with women in my stake, but they are far too competitive for the clown that I am. I am all about fun, but they were dead serious and ruthless.

So, my IT band is obviously nowhere near as bad as yours was. I can run the miles, as long as I run them slowly. I am just wondering if I will ever be able to speed back up a little. We will see!

It was great to see the back of you all morning, although I was not sure which of the many people was you!

Have a nice day!
